Little Boy Here is an example of our original picture. It is too dark.
Little Boy We use the brightness features of our picture editing software to make the picture brighter. Our experiences is that you should make them slighter brighter than you think they ought to be if you are going to display them on web pages. Most browsers seem to render images slightly darker than you expected.
Little Boy Sometimes images are flat, or lack the color we expect. You need to use the saturation features of your picture editing software to increase the color saturation. Try to get a realistic rendering as shown in the second picture above.
Little Boy Sometimes images are over saturated, or have too much color. You need to use the saturation features of your picture editing software to decrease the color saturation. As before, try to get a realistic rendering as shown in the second picture above.
Finally, there are often times special effects you can add to your pictures. Here we have used some photo framing tools to blend the edges of the pictures to white. This gives a softer feel for this picture.
Your photo editing software has many more photo enhancing functions than we have mentioned here. We suggest you play with them all with just one photograph so that you can learn how those functions affect the look of your pictures.
Now that you have adjusted the brightness and color saturation of your picture, let's move next to final step in creating pictures that you want to use on your web site or email to friends. This step has to do with how you save your pictures. Pay real close attention to the two pictures that are about to be displayed and note how much faster one displays than the other.Next Topic
