3H Project: Rotarian Activities

There will be an estimated 10 Rotarians from Clubs of district 5010 Their activities will include:

  1. Communicating with Rotarians outside the project country,
  2. Collection and input of information needed on a regular basis,
  3. Serving as liaison officers between Primorski Krai Health Department and outside Rotary Clubs.
  4. Promotion of CARE project to local media,
  5. Managing the project and its grant funds,
  6. Control over distribution of the vaccines,
  7. Providing liaison with other government agencies in the Russian Far East such as customs, etc.
  8. Day to Day involvement in the practical implementation of the project, and
  9. Writing the final report on completion of the project.

There will be 15 to 20 or more Rotarians from both clubs. These actives will include helping to obtain information for the project, Transportation when needed, and translating as needed.

Rotarian Activities outside Russia

There will be an estimated 50 Rotarians from Clubs in Districts 5190 and 5180, and the Alaska part of District 5010, directly involved in the project.

Rotary Activities.

These club members will be involved in the many activities of the project including:

  1. Arranging for purchasing and shipping the vaccines,
  2. Following-up to make sure the vaccines arrive satisfactorily
  3. Making site visits to the immunization sites,
  4. Following-up on the progress of the project
  5. Working to develop affordable vaccine sources
  6. Providing information and support for project publicity,
  7. Maintaining regular contacts with the in-country co-sponsors
  8. Maintaining a liaison with UNICEF and CDC (Center for Disease Control) contacts
  9. Developing support for expanding and spreading the pilot project.
  10. Making presentations to Rotary clubs in the three Districts and others outside the project country
  11. Reporting on the project
  12. Managing the 3-H Grant funds,
  13. Obtaining independent financial review annually,
  14. Providing technical expertise as the project is implemented and designed
  15. Providing information to the local media for publicity on the project.

We anticipate that several people from outside the project country will attend the initial inoculations. This should provide a good opportunity for project publicity.

We anticipate that at least one fourth of the three District's club members outside the project country will be involved in some way. That could include as many as 1000 Rotarians.These people could be involved in a minor way in some of the activities stated above. In addition, they will be involved in raising funds for matching the 3-H Grant funds. They will be working to establish links with other Clubs in Russia.
