A group of six CP Rotarians met in a Zoom Meeting on Thursday to discuss the potential for online teleconferencing to be the medium by which we can restart CP Rotary Club meetings during this period of shelter-in-place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jim Buckley and Laurie Edwards obtained some coaching on Zoom teleconferencing software from Bill Tobin of the EDH Club. Also, there is a recording of the EDH Club's last meeting that took place using Zoom that we can see here -- EDH Rotary Facebook Page -- where you can click on the grid of member faces to see the recorded meeting. Our District said, "We are offering the Zoom Service to ALL clubs. ... All clubs are strongly encouraged to take up this FREE offer." Action items decided during the meeting included: - Several members were going to attend the Placerville Rotary meeting that would use the "GoToMeeting" software and conferencing service. - Jim B. would send out an email recommending that members view the EDH meeting (as I did above) to see what they think of the Zoom experience in this context. Done. - President Dave would send out a member survey to determine interest and capability of the members in these types of meetings. |
