The January 3rd meeting will feature speaker, John Waterman, who is a Camp Fire survivor from Butte County and Rotary Club of Paradise member.  The meeting will be at the Cameron Park Country Club.

 

• A police-escorted bus trip from the American Legion hall to Foothills Church.
• The “boarding” of an airplane  (including TSA security checks) with each veteran having a guide who is an active duty or reserve service member.
• A “virtual” tour of monuments and memorials in Washington D. C. with narration through the magic of video and film.
• Using green screen technology, group pictures at the memorials.
• Lunch and snacks during the day.
• Shirt, hat and commemorative souvenir.

Gail and Kathy invited the many C. P. Rotarian veterans in attendance to apply to become part of this experience which they hope will become an annual event. They encouraged tall club members to consider becoming a sponsor for a veteran and for the “Mission of Honor” virtual trip at the $100, $250 or $500 level. Volunteers are also needed the day of the event to serve lunch, set up and clean up, act as guides and assist in any manner necessary to make the experience a memorable one for those who are selected to be honored.
