Most members are volunteering for one or more time slots to sell and serve wine and beer and snacks to attendees at the El Dorado County Fair which starts this Thursday, our usual meeting day.  Thus, there is no meeting of the Club this week.  Next Thursday, the 22nd, we will be meeting at the CP Country CLub, our usual meeting spot.

Several members including Cathy Dugan, JoEllen Brooks and the three pictured here -- Joe Ryan, Marlyn Pino-Jones and Tom Elken -- set up, manned and tore down a booth at the Thunder In The Park car show event at the Cameron Park Lake.   The fund-raising event was put on by the Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce.  We publicized all the good works that this club has done in the area as well as internationally.  Joe rode this bike to the event and wore his "Mr. Bike" hat so we were able to publicize our Bike Project too.  There were a large number of classic and/or muscle cars arrayed around the park.  Plenty of good food trucks and several raffle drawings added to the excitement of the event.  We had fun promoting our club's Public Image.  

On June 8th, we met at Tres Calaveras restaurant in the Burke Junction Shopping Center.  The topic of discussion was the final planning of our Wine and Beer Fest at the ED County Fair, June 15-18 led by Gary Gall, Gary Clarke and the rest of the committee.  Gary Gall talked about the county fair, a preview of the operation, map, parking, and your fair entrance tickets.  Gary Clarke served us tastings of the Red Blend and Chardonnay wines from Crystal Basin Cellars that we will be serving at the Fair.  He also served us tastes of a delicious Kolsch (similar to a lager) and an IPA from the Boring Rose Brewing Company.  Based on the great tastes, both the beer and the wines should be popular.  We will also be selling salty snacks -- Doritos, Fritos, Pretzels, Popcorn, etc. -- to raise money and stilulate the beverage sales. Prez Don even provided training on the cash register we will be using at the event. It was a fun meeting, and several of us were intrigued by artwork on the menu that Tres Calaveras put together for the event.
