Next Week, Feb-20-2020:  Lori Cicchini, Chair, Animal Outreach
This meeting will be at the Cameron Park Community Center.

Lori Cicchini, Chair, Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode, Diamond Springs, an organization which provides spay/neuter/adoption services for over 10,000 cats and dogs per year.

Last Week, Feb-13-2020:  PP Anne Eckert, Membership Chair + Committee
Anne Eckert  opened the discussion by introducing the Membership Committee members; Mike Dugan, Bill Hughes, Suzy O’Neal and President Dave Crofut (Anne and Bill pictured here).  A membership survey was distributed to all the members, with a request that everybody complete the survey and return them by 2-20-20. It was suggested and agreed to, that the survey be e-mailed to all Club members with the capability to respond via e-mail.
Mike Dugan provided our membership history and that, though declining for several years, progress has been made by individual members free guest/prospect lunches and through the establishment of corporate memberships. Further recruiting should happen through our affiliation with the Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce.
Bill Hughes discussed membership engagement and the need to determine the interests and desires of various generations. Bill said our members should emphasize to prospects the various projects our Club has provided to the community. A suggestion was made that the impressive list of our Club projects, both local and international, be developed and provided to all members. Another member recommended each member develop a brief elevator speech and another member said all members should wear their Club pins to generated interest.
Suzy O’Neal emphasized the interesting programs we have at our meetings and we should all pursue additional interesting topics and speakers. Proposed programs should be submitted to the committee.
President Dave discussed the importance of developing an ongoing list of proposed new projects, both local and international.
Anne asked people to reflect on how they became interested in Rotary. Don Fuller said he was considering joining and when he saw the Rotary sign at the sports field at the Shingle Springs Community Center he was hooked. In 2020, membership campaign incentives include giving a “Rotary Connects the World” pin to prospective members/guests, and providing 500 points toward a member’s Paul Harris Award when he/she brings in a new member.
