Barry Harwell is the Director of Sierra Child and Family Services. This foster placement and foster-adopt agency with outpatient mental health clinics has been serving El Dorado County since 1988. Barry brings professional and highly skilled staff and clinicians to assist our foster families and schools in our county.
Mike Dugan and Bill Hughes were the primary organizers of our club's well-organized and fun 50th anniversary party/meeting. Past-president Tiffany returned just in time to come up and help President Dave announce some projects that received District Awards:

District Governor-Elect Roberta (Berta, right) was there to congratulate the club in achieving this milestone and to encourage someone from the club to step up as club president-elect for the 2020-21 year when she will be District Governor.
Ben Foulk led the club in a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" to celebrate the 50 year anniversary, followed by "America the Beautiful." The winner of our local club and District 5190 Speech Contest, Carter, was here once more to entertain us with his oratorical talents, giving us all ideas on how we can be inspirational to others. Carter's plans are to major in political science at either U.C. Berkeley or U.C. San Diego.
Art (G. Arthur) Cort, the only current member of our club who was also a Charter Member got up and spoke a few words about how this all began in 1969. Art was the first Secretary, accepting the position with the promise that he would only have to serve for 1 year. Two years later, Art became the third President for the club. Art and Bob Clarke are the only two members of the club who live in Latrobe. In the past, Bob used to call Art and ask if he could drive them both to club meetings in his 1937 DeSoto -- talk about arriving in style!
