This Week's Meeting, June 25, 2026: BBQ at the CSD and Congratulating Don Fuller

This week, we will enjoy a barbecue lunch at the Cameron Park Community Services District while making final plans for our Rotaryville Margarita Booth at the Summer Spectacular this Saturday.

We will also be joined by the current, past and future district governors as we recognize Don Fuller, who has been selected by Rotary District 5190 to serve as district governor for the 2028–2029 Rotary year. During his one-year term, Don will visit more than 60 Rotary clubs, support club growth and development, and promote Rotary’s mission of service, fellowship, and humanitarian action throughout Eastern California and Northern Nevada.

Don joined the Rotary Club of Cameron Park in 2011 and has served as club treasurer, Rotary Foundation chair, and president. He has been actively involved in the club’s widely recognized bicycle program, which provides approximately 500 bicycles annually to underprivileged youth, veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees, and wildfire victims.

Currently serving as the club’s youth chair, Don coordinates student recognition programs, speech and music contests, youth leadership opportunities, scholarships, and grants. Since 2025, he has also served as assistant governor for Rotary Area 6, supporting the Rotary Clubs of Cameron Park, Placerville, Georgetown, and Pollock Pines.

Don retired after a 45-year career in the electrical industry, including positions with Westinghouse and the California Independent System Operator. He studied electrical engineering at Oregon State University and earned an MBA in finance from Widener University.

Don and his wife, Linda, are longtime Shingle Springs residents. They have three adult children, four grandchildren, and a yellow Labrador retriever named Poppy.

Congratulations, Don, on this well-deserved appointment.

Last Week's Meeting, June 18, 2026:  DARK at noon, Wine and Beer Booth at the Fair

A big thank you to everyone who organized, volunteered, and supported our Beer and Wine Booth at the El Dorado County Fair. Thanks to your efforts, this important fundraiser was a tremendous success.

This year, the booth grossed $26,566, an increase of more than $2,979 over last year. With our typical net return of 49 percent, the proceeds will help fund scholarships, youth programs, and local community service projects throughout the year.

The weather was beautiful, community support was outstanding, and the booth was busy throughout the fair.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's event such a success.
