President Mike Dugan provided the opening remarks for the Annual Christmas Party and Auction organized by Dave Sargent and the Christmas Party Committee. This event was a re-opening of sorts for the club after the event was canceled last year due to the COVID Pandemic; the theme for the event was "Fellowship, Service, Renewal." The Jazz Combo and Choir (see photo below) from Ponderosa High School provided spirited entertainment for the party. The level of talent and training evidenced by both groups was indeed impressive. There were 65 people attending, achieving our goals for the event. Instead of a silent auction for the smaller items, there was a fun raffle, with people stuffing their tickets in the bins for the items they most wanted. The live auction, as usual engendered some spirited bidding, and considerable amounts of donations were raised for our club's charitable works and projects. This event had a real Christmas spirit, and a fun time was had by all. |
