 Brian James, Planning and Marketing Manager for El Dorado Transit, provided an overview and insight to the operations, current and new routes, and plans for the future. Brian has been with EDT for two years arriving from a business and marketing background. He had a great start, having graduated locally from Oakridge High School.
El Dorado Transit began service in 1975 primarily serving seniors and persons with disabilities in the Placerville area. Public transit was added in 1980 with commuter routes being added in 1988. This county service began with six-busses growing to the sixty-vehicles today and serving over 400,000 rides annually employing 80 workers ranging from front-office staff and administration to drivers and maintenance crews.
