On December 11, there was a presentation about the impending launch of the James Webb Space Telescope near the Community Observatory (at Building L of the EDC Office of Education) by Tim Pinkney, a NASA ambassador.  In case you missed it, at this YouTube link you can see a recording of that presentation.

The launch itself, delayed until Christmas day (4:20am Pacific Time), was announced by this NASA press release.  There is also an in-depth NASA video distributed on YouTube that describes the telescope in detail and shows the rocket getting into position and the launch, which occurs at about the 1 hour 22 minute point in the over two-hour-long video, which also shows the progress of the flight.  This is a world-wide effort to increase our understanding of the universe.
